Digital PR services without the six month minimum

Digital PR is coverage pursued for its search value as much as its readership. Agencies sell it as a $3,000-plus retainer with a strategist attached; most of the market below them sells paid placements dressed in PR language. We sell the earned version, on a flat subscription, with the averages printed on the page.

Three things the work produces

Everything a digital PR campaign delivers falls into one of these. A vendor who cannot tell you which one they are selling is selling activity.

Output one

Referring domains

A link from a site that has never linked to you before. The measurable one, the one every tool reports, and the reason most firms buy. Its value depends almost entirely on the site, which is why per-link pricing tells you so little on its own.

Output two

Brand mentions and entity signals

Your firm's name, your attorneys' names and your location appearing consistently across places that are not your own website. Harder to measure, and the input that decides whether a search engine is confident it knows who you are.

Output three

Something a human reads

The part that gets forgotten. A feature a partner can send to a referral source does work that no crawler metric captures, and it keeps working after the link has stopped mattering.

The answer engine question

A growing share of legal research now happens inside an answer engine rather than a results page, and the firms cited there are not always the firms ranking first. Two things appear to matter: being mentioned across sources an engine trusts, and being consistently described the same way everywhere it looks.

That is uncomfortably close to what PR has always done, which is why the current sales pitch around AI visibility is so loud. Our position is narrower and duller. Placements and entity consistency are plausibly useful for citation, we cannot measure the effect for you with any rigour, and nobody selling you an AI visibility package can either. What we will not do is put a number on it and invoice against the number.

What we can say plainly. Earned mentions in real publications are the shape of source answer engines lean on: consistent citations of a named expert, in trusted places, saying the same things. That is exactly what the packages accumulate. Whether it produces a citation in any given engine on any given week is not something we control or will pretend to.

How to check a digital PR vendor in six questions

Including us. Every one of these has a right answer, and a vendor who dodges any of them has told you something.

  1. Do I see the site before you write? The answer should be yes without qualification. A vendor who places first and reports afterwards is protecting their inventory, not your judgement.
  2. What happens when a placement comes down? A replacement window in writing. Twelve months is standard. No window at all means it is your problem.
  3. Is the link followed, and will you put that in writing? The honest answer is that it is set up to be and the report will show what it actually carries. A guarantee in perpetuity is not something a vendor can honour.
  4. Is the outreach done for my order, or am I buying from a list? Both exist. List inventory is cheaper and every site on it has sold the same slot repeatedly. You should be told which one you are getting.
  5. What is the refund position? Ask specifically what happens if the work cannot be delivered. If the answer is a credit toward future work, that is not a refund.
  6. Can I exclude sites? Competitors, publications you have already used, anywhere your firm should not appear. A vendor who cannot honour an exclusion list is placing from inventory they do not control.

Ask us the same six. Our answers are short, because nothing we sell is a placement: nobody pays the publisher, there is no inventory, and the terms sit on one page.

Common questions

Why is this cheaper than an agency?

Because you are not buying account management, a strategist, a quarterly business review or the six months of ramp that a retainer covers. You are buying the sourcing and the coverage it earns. For a firm that already knows what it wants, most of what an agency charges for is overhead you are funding twice.

Why is this more expensive per link than a wholesale network?

Because a network link is a payment to a site that exists to take payments, and an earned citation is a journalist choosing to quote your attorney. They are not the same product at different prices; they are different products that both happen to be links. The gap pays for continuous sourcing in your attorneys names and coverage no policy can object to.

Do you work with non-legal clients?

No. Everything here, from the outreach pools to the compliance handling to the writers, is built for law firms. A vendor who serves every industry equally is describing a list, not an approach.

Can I get a strategy before buying?

Email us the site and the two competitors beating you and we will tell you what the gap looks like, at no charge, including when the answer is that you should not buy anything. What we do not do is a paid strategy engagement, because that is the thing this whole site exists to avoid selling.

The packages page is the fastest way through this. Every number, every average and the cancellation terms sit on one page.
